Shopping trail - New York
Are you planning a shopping frenzy, but don’t know where the best place to go is? No problem. Especially for you we have prepared our new fashion and travel series. It’s time for “Shopping Trail – New York.”
5 a.m., Fifth Avenue in Manhattan
Thinking of the famous 5th Avenue, “Moon River” and the image of the elegant Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” – at 5 a.m. on Fifth Avenue resonate in my imagination. It is for this iconic film that New York’s flagship Fifth Avenue is famous. But is it only for that? Walking down Fifth Avenue, we are impressed by monumental buildings like the Empire State Building, the Plaza Hotel, and Rockefeller Center – where fresh coffee accompanies everyone on their way to work, and the white cuffs of stockbrokers are no strangers to anyone. However, we must not forget that New York is not only the capital of business sharks, Vogue and trenwatchers, but, above all, of world fashion.

Blue jeans, white shirt...
… are words from a Lana del Rey song and the embodiment of Manhattan style. This is where naturalness, minimalism meet extravagance and expensive jewelry. Where to find such jewelry? Tiffany and Cartier invite you to their department stores, which tempt you with jewels between 50th and 60th Avenues. Even a short walk down this world-famous boulevard is a source of inspiration, feeds with color and delights with the sophisticated craftsmanship of the designers – and there is no shortage of those there. Fendi, Hermes or Versace are just a few of them. The Manhattan landscape is complemented by one of the first department stores built in this part of the mista. B. Altman & Co. which sits on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 34th Street, sparked a boom of upscale boutiques in the middle section of Fifth Avenue. Luxury and finesse can also be found in such department stores as Barney’s, Lord’s & Taylor, and… Bergdorf Goodman.
Scatter my ashes over the temple of fashion....
…With these words the documentary film about the flagship Bergdorf Goodman department store, founded in 1899 by Herman Bergdorf, is titled. The place is considered an icon and temples of world fashion. Rich in history with many designers such as. Christian Louboutin, Marc Jacobs, or Magda Butrym, is distinguished above all by its original interior and exhibition design. It is undoubtedly the center of the most luxurious events and shows in New York, which absolutely must be on your list of places to visit.

Luxury devoid of tourist hustle and bustle
For the slightly more sophisticated aesthete seeking inspiration, reflection and luxury – New York City has prepared an exclusive Madison Avenue between 55th and 72nd Streets. It is a place where, while shopping, one can take a break from the tourist hustle and bustle and do unhurried shopping at the Chanel boutique at 737 Madison Ave. After successful shopping, you can sit down with one of the many cofee shops, enjoy an aromatic coffee and…. escape with your thoughts to Berlin, where the famous diva – Marlene Dietrich – was born.
