And although the big countdown to Christmas begins then, not everyone dreams of snow falling. Just where to go on vacation in the winter? Fortunately, there are places in the world where summer lasts all year round. Check it out for yourself.

Where to escape winter?

Contrary to appearances, there are really quite a few places where it is warm while winter is going on in Poland at its best. If we want to lounge on the beach in December and walk around in a skimpy bikini we have a wide range of options. It all depends primarily on the budget and the number of vacation days. Many of the destinations are located in the other hemisphere, where the flight itself takes up to a dozen hours. In such a situation, a week’s vacation can be far too short and turn into only three short days during which you fight jetlag. That’s why it’s worth thinking carefully about all the pros and cons before making a final decision.

Canary Islands

When we have little time for a vacation, but we dream of sun and beach in December a great solution is to go to the Canary Islands. This Spanish archipelago located in the Atlantic Ocean is famous for the fact that summer there lasts all year round. Among tourists, the most popular are the 4 islands that make up the Canaries: Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Although each is a volcanic island, they are definitely different not only in terms of flora and fauna, but especially in terms of how you can spend your time there.

The islands are best traveled by car, and renting one is much cheaper than in other regions of Spain. The largest island in the archipelago is Tenerife, which is divided into two parts: northern and southern. It is in the south that there are ideal conditions for water sports, including the recently popular kitesurfing. The situation is similar in Fuerteventura. The island has a rather harsh climate and resembles a desert in places, but surfing conditions there are almost year-round.

Seychelles

Another destination that is famous for its ideal year-round holiday weather is the Seychelles. This tiny African island is a true paradise on earth that attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world every year. There are quite a few modern resorts on the island that take care of every detail during your stay. You can go there both on your own and using the offer of a travel agency. A week’s stay in a five-star hotel costs about 8,000 zlotys per person. Is it worth spending that much? Definitely yes! The Seychelles is famous for its many attractions that we will never see again. The most famous of these is the coco de mer palm. It only grows in this one place in the world, and its seed weighs up to 30 kilograms. According to the local population, they are an aphrodisiac, and the island itself is often called the place of lovers.

The most beautiful island in the Seychelles is considered La Digue, home to the famous Source d’Argent beach. Amazing streamlined rocks, azure water whose temperature does not drop below 25 degrees Celsius and almost pristine nature make you not want to return from there.

Hawaii

Another destination you can go to at any time of the year is Hawaii. It is an American archipelago located in the Atlantic Ocean and is as far as 4,000 kilometers from the nearest mainland. Hawaiians are famous for their hospitality and devotion to nature, which you can feel while you are there. Hawaii consists of several islands, the most popular being O’ahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. Each of them can be reached by air. A departure from Poland usually involves two connecting flights, and the entire trip takes about 24 hours one way. Therefore, when going on vacation to Hawaii, it is advisable to plan a longer vacation.

It is definitely useful not only to get there, but also to see as much as possible there. Each island is significantly different and famous for something different. O’ahu is Hawaii’s most popular island, home to the state capital Honolulu and one of the world’s most famous beaches, Waikiki. This is where modern surfing originated, and conditions for the sport are year-round.

Aruba

There is another small island not far from Venezuela that is worth seeing. If you’re wondering where to escape winter, be sure to fly to Aruba! The flight from Warsaw takes about 17 hours. You can fly there on your own or use charters offered by travel agencies. Aruba is famous for its heavenly beaches, turquoise water, flamingos and… safety! In many rankings it is considered the safest place on earth. The percentage of crime on the island is really low.

Although the island is only about 179 square ^kilometers, you certainly can’t get bored there! It is the perfect place to indulge in blissful laziness and beachcombing or to take advantage of the many attractions the island has to offer. There are year-round conditions for kitesurfing and diving among the surrounding wrecks. It’s also a good idea to rent an off-road vehicle and explore the island all around.

Dominican Republic

Vacation trips to the Dominican Republic have also become increasingly popular recently. The temperature there rarely drops below 25 degrees, plus the sun shines most of the time. If you’re looking for a place to escape to in December or January, the Dominican Republic would be an ideal option! It is located on the island of Haiti located in the Caribbean Sea. There are beautiful sandy beaches and blue water like no other place in the world.

Dominica is famous for its endless parties. Rum drinks, cigars and Latin rhythms are the hallmarks of this beautiful country. The locals are also open and very friendly. In many places you can try local cuisine, with freshly caught seafood playing the main fiddle.

Mexico

Another mid-winter vacation destination is Mexico. It is an ideal destination for those who enjoy active sightseeing and learning about the culture of other countries. The country is famous for its amazing civilization, including the famous Mayan temples, which, while there, are a must-see. The most popular base for tourists is Tulum, a city built on a cliff where numerous temples have been preserved. Mexico’s most famous beach, Tulum Beach, is located there. Both fans of water sports and proponents of sweet laziness will have a good time there.

While in Mexico, it’s also a must to try the local cuisine, which is UNESCO-listed. It is closely linked to religious customs and rituals, which is why Mexicans bring food even to gravesites.

Egypt

If we are looking for a much cheaper alternative for a winter trip, we can take advantage of all-inclusive offers to Egypt. Nowadays, travel agencies are outdoing themselves in the number of facilities available, so there is something for everyone. The cost of such a trip ranges from 2-5 thousand zlotys per person, depending on the standard of hotel we choose. In addition to blissful laziness by the pool or the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea, we can choose to be active.

In Egypt, Kite Safari trips are often organized, which is an active vacation on a boat from which you descend directly into the sea to go kite surfing. Another popular option is scuba diving to see the amazing coral reefs and the animals that live there. For the more experienced divers, the Blue Hole in Dahab, one of the most dangerous sea wells in the world, awaits.

Kenya

Our last suggestion for where to escape winter is Kenya. The equatorial climate there makes summer last year-round. The trip takes about 11 hours, so it is an option for both those who can afford a longer vacation and those who have only allocated 7 days for the trip. The fact is that you can really fall in love with Kenya and many tourists like to return there.

While in Kenya, it is worth experiencing the local culture and trying the local cuisine. These are not dishes that are served in Polish restaurants, so they may not appeal to everyone. Kenya itself is mainly famous for its Safari tours, especially in Tsavo National Parks. The trip usually begins at dawn and lasts until late at night. During this time you can see wild animals in their natural habitat.
